What Was That Again?

I'm using that last post as the the first line of a novel I'm writing. The character finds herself in a situation where she has to laugh to keep from crying. I'm sure many of us have been there time and again. Unfortunately for her, it's a recurring situation. She'll handle it though. But how? :) :)
